CALL workshop: My Nida

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
I was never really in to blogs despite the fact that I had it set up for quite a while until we had a CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) workshop at Thaksin University. We have been told to set up a blog as a medium of teaching. That was when I started to update my own blog. ......
The workshop went fine and I got to know more about my colleagues, especially ajarn Nida Meesuk. I have been working at Thaksin University for 6 years and I have always seen ajarn Nida as a successful head of the department of Thai and Eastern Languages as well as an outstanding teacher and researcher. It came across my mind so often why this lady was able to do so many great things at the same time. For someone as Thai language and literature teacher with at least 20 years of age older than me, I expected her to be a little bit old-fashioned and slow to adapt. Well, I was totally wrong about it. Having been sitting next to ajarn Nida for five days in the workshop, I have realised how determined this lady is. Ajarn Nida can be successful in anything because she is so determined. She works really hard and never lets anything go until she really understands it. Moreover, she is creative and open-minded. I totally have full respect in her.

My perspective of the world

Image hosted by TinyPic.com
I like taking photos- but not shots of people or myself. It might be an inferiority complex of someone who is not satisfied with his/her own appearance. I prefer taking photos of the landscape which reflects on how I see the world and how I feel in a particular moment in life. The picture above was taken in Rome, Italy. After a long day of walking around the town, I decided to lie down on the ground in the middle of some sort of a square. This is a splendid view of the town that is rarely seen.

The Left Lion

Old Market Square Nottingham Posted by Hello

This picture was taken at Nottingham Old Market Square in the year 2000. I was doing a Master Degree course at the University of Nottingham at that time. In front of the Old Market Square, there are two lion statues-the left one and the right one. I was in front of the right lion in the photo. But it was the left lion where the legend between Louis and me began. And that has made us together until today. Why do you think the left lion is so important to us? What do you think happened there? How about you? How did you meet the love of your life? Do you believe in love at first sight? How do you know that he is your "Mr Right"? Please share your comment with me.
